"Here, have some candy," Pre-Vet Students Supporting Diversity's (PSSD) Vice President Kimberly Miller said. Miller persisted even if new transfer and first-year students refused her advances, "Are you sure?" On Sept. 22 The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) welcomed the new Aggies home with an ice cream social. Students were able to meet faculty members and Dean's office academic counselors from the CAES. Student organizations also gave information about their clubs to the new students. PSSD's External Relations officer Brigitte Clark shared her thoughts on the event, "I loved socializing not only with my club members, but also with [new] students," Clark said. "It was interesting hearing about their interests and backgrounds as well as answering any of their questions about life as a pre-vet student at Davis." She also did not forget to put in a good word about PSSD. "We are a wonderful club that supports each other," Clark said. "[We] are excited at the prospect of welcoming new members to our team!" PSSD was one of 10 student organizations in attendance at the event. |
